Signing of HR 3525

President Biden with members of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC). Grace Meng was given the pen that Biden used to sign the bill.

NJAMF was honored to witness President Biden sign HR 3525, a bill establishing a commission to study the creation of a National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture. This national museum would be dedicated to sharing stories, histories, and cultures of the diverse and growing AANHPI population. NJAMF Chair John Tobe said, "We welcome this first step towards creating a national museum solely focused on the histories and cultures of the AANHPI population. We thank Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-NY) for leading this effort. This is long overdue and we look forward to working with the commission, Congress, and other thought leaders as we bring this museum to life in Washington, D.C."
